About the Eco-park

Our ecopark you will be able to find a large number of animal species living in their natural habitats, tropical ecosystems, bodies of water and too many plants, which are very common in this part of the world.

Activities

  • Enjoy a walk to know some species and plants.
  • You can swim in some allowed points of some body of water.
  • And our special activity is about planting some plant in the ecosystem, and thus help to preserve the flora of the place.
  • When we arrived here, before the construction,
we found a rock wall, at first we didn´t know what we could do with it, but finally we had the idea of turning it into a climbing wall.
We have the best instructors that will take care of you and will teach how to do it in a safety way.
  • Realizing the turtles is a great activity. When we release the turtles we have some rules and care, which the volunteers must follow.
The rules and cares are the following ones:
    1. For green sea turtles, a nest temperature of 28°C (82°F) or below produces mostly males; a temperature of 31°C (88°F) or above produces mostly females.
    2. When the turtles hatch the eggs you have to respect the area where the eggs are found and do not enter.
    3. Hatchlings may discriminate light intensities and head for the greater light intensity of the open horizon.
    4. Their diving behavior may be a behavioral adaptation for avoiding predation by birds.

The beaches in Barbados are an important part for the ecosystem because it helps to the environment.

Two of the world's rarest sea creatures nest on the beaches of Barbados. . . the hawksbill turtle and the leatherback turtles. The hawksbill turtle nests between April and November mainly on the west and south coasts of the island, while the powerful lute, the largest of all turtle species, nests between February and July on windswept beaches of the coasts. east and south.

Our own crops, in Barbados Eco resort we care about the health of our animals, so that why we produce our own food, we have our plants of production and crops where we grow our own vegetables and fruit for giving them organic food, whit out pesticides and from the best quality.

With the help of a vet we create especial plans and diets depending of each animal characteristics, age and size.
